I have a 67 80hp evinrude outboard which uses points for ignition that gave up the ghost as I am told (no compression left). It was operated by a push button controller (electric shift). I am also the proud owner of a 68 (I believe) 85 hp Johnson Electromatic that is also electronic shift (with electronic ignition). The electrical harness or connection looks the same with the same number of contacts. Does anyone know if I can use the controller that was designed for the 67 motor for the 68 motor even though it is electronic ignition instead of points?<br />Randy
