I have a 1995 Concept 18. Over time the walk through windshield got to the point it would not close; it would overlap and lay on the windshield on the driver side by a 1/4 inch or little more. Standing behind the boat looking in, it appears that the dashboard/glove box on each side have settled in toward the middle of the boat, causing this condition. Hull integrity seems to be good, and you can actually lift up slightly each side. I would like to correct this, but can't find info on how the boat is "put together". Maybe some type of "lift" for each side? Suggestions appreciated, thanks!

You may have bigger issues than just the windshield. If the deck is getting lower in the hull then your stringers under it could be rotten and letting it collapse in causing the windshield to close wrong. Any movement in the floor when you walk on it?

Floor seems strong. the "sinking" is hard to describe via words. Where you walk thru the windshield, the dashboard on the driver side, and the passenger side dash have drooped a little, right at the walk thru area. There are no supports from the floor to the dash. Its not the floor area, its at the height just below your waist. its drooped a little in the area where the supports for the windshield go from the dash to the top of the windshield frame, if that makes sense. It almost appears that if there was a similar support from the floor to the bottom of the dash it would better support the dash area. Not sure this makes sense without a drawing.

Ayuh,.. We Know what you're talkin' about,...
Isn't there a bulkhead/ seatback/ whatever in the bow area, ahead of the windshield,..??

The dash is falling in on itself, for Whatever reasons,..
You need to find those Reasons, 'n correct them....

You need to address whatever supported the windshield, not the windshield itself...

Re: Chris Craft Concept 18 Windshield repair

Thanks, and I agree. It's hard to find info on 1995 Chris Craft boats, especially the way the huu is constructed, and whats tied to what. I've been crawling around and under things, don't see any cracks, etc to speak of yet. I think its just 15 years of wear and tear perhaps. Any suggestion on where to find info on 1995 CC construction, etc? thanks for your help.

I also have a 95 concept 18 and it had/has sort of a kick panel and trim piece that were attached to the console and rested on the floor as well as another plywood panel which is glassed in to the hull. The console was actually screwed to that one for support on mine. However if yours has the said panels and the same along with a sort of riser on the starboard side I could use pictures as I've just rebuilt the deck in mine and totally forgot to take pictures first so now I've got a total of 5 freshly carpeted panels without a cue as to how they fit in. Lol
