Re: carb setting 87 125 w/ boyesen2 stage reeds rebuilt power head

I put a set on my 1988 125 after a re-build. Didn't have to do much. Just adjust idle mixture as normal. My mixture screws are about 1 3/8 turns out from lightly seated. I wouldn't expect every engine to be the same, but 1 1/2 turns out seems to be around where you want to be. I've seen some folks say you can run larger jets. Tried that, didn't see any noticeable difference. Put the original ones back in. Idles better and improved throttle response than the standard reeds. Not sure they're really worth the money, at least on my particular Force motor, but there was a slight improvement in the way it runs. Improvement in idle and throttle response could also have been because everything in it was new after the rebuild. Make sure you use Loctite on the screws that hold the reed petals in place.

Make sure you run double the amount of oil when breaking the new power head in.
