My carb is pretty jacked up and I need to replace it. Are there differences in marine and auto carbs? It's for a 350 V-8. I also need suggestions on what kind may be better for me!
-Gerry

Call Jack at Flagship Marine Engine Co at 800-282-2840. He will need to know exactly which motor and carb you have now. A throttle body may be an option. Tell him I said hello.

Good luck!

Re: Carb problems

Already closed, **** east coast. So I have been looking around on the internet and found that there are different CFM. What is that and is there a variable that I have to stay between? Also, is the throttle body interchangeable or will I have to buy a new one with the new carb? My old carb was a rochester quadrajet 17080562.

Call Jack in the AM and ask about throttle body (fuel injection) option. It never hurts to ask.

Good luck!

Re: Carb problems

OK Boys! I have narrowed it down to 2 carbs that are direct replacement and I need some opinions to help make the decision. First is the direct quadrajet replacement. It's on Boatfix and the part number there is SIE187618. Then there is a holly and I have a link for that one, it's http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/Marine/FMS/FMSC/0-80552.html
I need some input on this one. The Quadrajet is 377 remanufactured, and the Holley is 361 brand new. Thanks guys,
Gerry

Careful clanton...free stuff is usually worth what you pay for it...[fone-man, I couldn't resist!]... I didnt see 'free' in his post... I bet It will cost you a serious amount of 'adult beverage'......

Re: Carb problems

I would have loved to just take it over to fone man's place but when we opened up the carb there were missing and bent up parts. I called the guy that sold it to me and he said that when he pulled the engine he knew the chain got caught on the carb but didn't see any damage to it. Believe me if I could have fixed it I would have! I got my money back so now it's time to find the new one.
-Gerry
