Can you ID this lower fitting?

Motor is a '97 Mariner 115. This is a plastic fitting on the forward edge of the lower unit. The nipple is cracked where is connects to the base. I dont see anything that connects to it, but I suspect maybe this has something to do with my non-working water pressure gauge. The tubing for it was cut way short by the P.O.

Welcome aboard.

I believe that's a fitting for a speedometer tube. A water pressure gauge fitting is on the power head.

Thanks for the fast help. I should have added motor is not original to boat, so no speedo gauge to worry about. Now to figure out where to hook up that gauge. Can I assume that any plug that goes into a water passage will work?

Yes, any water jacket plug can supply the water pressure gauge. If no plug, you could plumb it into the telltale tube.
