I just got my new outboard and i can't seem to figure out how the throttle and shift cables attatch. If someone can please post some pictures out of the manual or go out and take a picture of their outboard i would really appreciate it. It is a 1999 mercury 115 hp outboard. Thanks in advance.

If you look at your picture you will see two holes just below the port side of the air box. That is where the adjustable barrel ends of the cables go. There is a plastic piece that clips over them to retain them. About the middle (lengthwise) of the port side of the engine and at the bottom you see two nuts on studs. The lower one goes to the shift cable. The upper to the throttle. I'm assuming the cables are hooked up to your control, so with the control in neutral ,the throttle cable will be the one on the end of its travel. the shift will be in the middle of its travel.

If this comes through all messed up, send me a "Private Message" and I'll send the picture directly to your email address. Sorry!!, I have trouble with pictures being posted in the forum.
