I have a 96 Mercury 150hp, with a primary and secondary oil tank. Trying to find out the easiest way to bypass the oil for a direct mix application.

Can the oil just be left out and mix directly or are there special requirements in order to effectively change this?

I've heard several methods, but wanted to make sure I wasn't going to damage my motor either way. Thanks in advance!

You have to buy a plug that goes where the oil pump goes...Mercury makes it..there is a plastic gear on the crank that the plug fits into..you cannot just take the pump off...there is also a plate that covers the hole with two screws..The high performance guys all pre-mix given the high rpm's they do...The pump can't keep up over 6500 rpm's....plus you always know that you have oil in the gas when you premix... I don't have the part numbers but others can chime in.......
