Re: "BVI Recommendations"

I rented a trawler last year and bounced around Tortola. What a great experience! Most places are great to experience but will change from year-to-year. Once you get there ask the locals as well as your outfitters. Here's a good link: http://www.bviwelcome.com/

In addition, I took my Sirus radio with me had some great cruising tunes ( XM doesn't work down there). The local radio stations don't offer very much.

Peter Island , the Willie T is an institution.Go to Virgin Gorda and visit the Bitter End Yacht Club, Biras Creek is next door up on the hill and you should have a meal there , excelent food. Pussers in Tortolla , is Tortolla where you are picking up? I have done more than my fare share of full seasons in the BVI'S Let me know what your into and where you pick up

Reasons, we are departing from road town with 7 days to explore. Yes I hear the Willy T is a must. We are looking for some sight seeing, snorkeling, checking out some of the beaches and some casual places to eat and drink. We are pretty open on our plans as of now. This Biras Creek, is it a casual?

Re: "BVI Recommendations"

Just got back Nov 9th from BVI- spent 8 days sailing a 54' Jenneau. We had a tremendous smoked lobster dinner at Anegada. Reservation necessary. Also had the best filet mignon I have ever laid my taste buds on at The Last Resort next to Beef Island. Melt in your mouth. It had a band and free shots of Jose (if you didn't play the band's game by the rules)... and I never play by the rules so 6 shots of Jose, 2 bottles of wine and 2 glasses of Pusser's,,, Nope, I didn't even fall in getting in or out of the dinghy! Great time there. We discovered a (unadvertised) great place to snorkle on the north side of Great Dog. Be very careful anchoring. Choral there is huge and beautiful. No currents to fight but you don't want to tear things up.
The Baths is of note at Virgin Gorda. Watch for slipery rocks. My sister inlaw can attest. A vist to Sandy Cay near Jost Van Dyke is a great place for pictures. Watch out for the mosquitos though. They are beasts! I look at the pictures (200) and can't wait to get back!
