Went to a state operated Lake that seemed to be the training ground for Wildlife Enforcement Personnel. I wasn't drinking, but my buddies that drink more than their share was. At dusk, we noticed that the ranger was making his rounds to each boat on the lake. So my on buddy says "Lets just take the beer and put it is the fish basket that hangs over the boat, and after they leave we will put it back into the cooler" The other guys agreed that would be a good idea. You know the outta sight outta mind rule? Sure enough here comes the Ranger over to our boat and sees whats up. Everything was fine until he noticed all these Bud Light cans floating in the water all around out boat. My buddies didn't take in consideration that light beer in the cans floats, plus they didn't close the top of the basket. At least the Rangers were glad to see that I hadn't been drinking which was proven to them after a soboritey test. But the citations where wrote for littering, and alcholic beverages in the state park! The buddies paid the fines since I wasn't involved with the consumption of the beer. The fines came to $850 bucks! plus the loss of their 3 cases of bud light! I think you could say the the moral of this story is "You don't really need to own a boat to throw money in the hole in the water!" :D

That's a great story. I hope people realize that boating and drinking more than your share don't mix. :)

I kind of know the feeling myself, but it was short & mind you not sweet at all. I got nailed once not long ago, I had my beer in my buddys cooler when the game warden floated our way, when asked if we caught many fish my friend replied 6 of em'. The warden asked mind if I take a look just to see if you guys are minding the slot limit, when he saw the beer he asked whats that doing in there, I replied, Officer our ice melted and this is all we had that was cold enough to keep the fish from spoiling. If I drink wile fishing it now has been on dry land. I'd like to encourage everyone that boats, drinking while boating is just as dangerous as drinking while driving.
