I have a Hurricane deck boat that has a blue ablative paint on the bottom. Was painted around 7 years ago by previous owner. I do not dock the boat more than a couple of days at the time so I really don't need the ablative paint.
I am wanting to strip the ablative paint that is badly faded and non existant in high wear areas. I am wanting to lay down a more permanent trailer freindly paint.
The bottom appears to have been primed before the last coats were applied so can I just strip the ablative paint and go over the primer or could I just leave the primer?
I wouldn't mess with it but it looks terrible sitting on the trailer with the streaks in the paint.
Also what is the best/easiest way to strip the ablative paint?
