I have just recently inherited a 1967 Grassl Glass Boat. It is 15' with a 40hp Johnson outboard. It has been in the water about 15 times and garage kept since 1967. It's like new. I have been trying to figure out it's value...if it's a collectors boat....or just worth a couple thousand dollars.....any help would be great

I don't know if I would expect more then several thousand dollars, if your lucky. You know what they say, its worth what you can get for it.
I would definatly spend some time wandering around www.fiberglassics.com
Craig

Re: Boats Value??

I realize this is an old post, but I just saw it after doing a search.....sooooo, I thought I would answer it anyway.

Grassl was a small family run business in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY. They made fibergalss truck fenders. Someone sold him a pair of used boat molds, and he bagan making boats, basically to order. He had a small showroom in the front and made the boats in the back.

I believe they only lasted a few years and I don't think they sold many boats. His prices were about the same as an MFG, but without the custom extras. I don't imagine there is much collector value, thus the value would range accordingly.

Hi there, my name is carl grassl, yes just like your boat, the company was my grandfathers and fathers before my time. Just a small company mfg type design, they helped pioneer the foam core design for glass boats. Unfortunately they did not last very long, and theyre boats dont have much value, but if possible i would love to at least see a pic or two of the boat if you have them. I kno this post is ancient, but i figured what the heck. After the boats, the family buisness changed it focus to become eagle coach works, building fiberglass replica kit cars, in the mid 80's they sold to young fire equiptment who eventually went under. Well, if u rear this please contact me @
