have i/o mercruiser in 19 ft. bayliner.Hitlog just leaving dock at 2 miles an hour. At speed, boat steers to left regardless of how its trimmed out, actually pulls that way. Slight grumbling sound noted.
This may be the obvious but...
did you check to see if anything is caught on your lower unit?

Also, look for a bent Skeg or Trim Tab fin.
Is the Prop bent?

First thing I would do is inspect the entire lower unit for anything out the ordinary. Sounds like you've whacked it pretty good and something gave.

Nav.
Oops,
Forgot to say..
If everything looks good, adjust the angle of the trim tab. It may have been bumped by the log.
How much to adjust, try a 1/2 inch and test at speed. Adjust accordingly.
Nav.
(the one who's having a difficult time typing today
Thanks, Navigator. Nothing that you mentioned seems to be out of the ordinary. When motor kicked back as it hit the log could it have bent the trim rod pump. Are the rods suppose to absorb any of the shock when this occurs
