Boat sat for 2yrs. Maintenance Help Needed.

I'm looking to maintenance my Mercury outboard that sat for 2 years. What wearable items need to be replaced yearly? Or as maintenence? What brand of parts is recommended? And where can I find cheap quality parts. Thx

Check compression. change impeller, lower unit oil, fuel pump for starters.

The boat starts. What about spark splugs.?

OK. Spark plugs, Impeller, L/U oil change.

Check compression.
drain lower unit oil and look for water. refill if no water.
change impeller if so inclinded...they rot after a few years of not used,
lube the steering links
check the fuel filter screen
toss out the old metal gas tank it prolly is rusted, buy plastic


if it runs and pees no reason not for a short drive...keep an eye on the peehole

dont forget to add oil to the gas!
