Sometimes you can put 5200 sealer in the hole and on the screw, and it will hold the screw in. I am sure there is better ideal, but this will work for a while.

Hey Tejas Angler,
Where might you be in Tejas? Just curious.
Hey I read on this board (I think) that some folks replace that rubber rub rail (think that's the right term) with rope. The right size/diameter will fit down in that groove just like replacement rubber strip. Check out this post on this board:
http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=001923
I like the rope idea cause the rubber rail on my fiberglass runabout is about shot and I'll be replacing it before long.
I'm way up in West Tejas, in comanche territory.
Good luck.

Drill the holes out with a larger drill bit then fill with an epoxy then place packing tape over it to keep it from drooling out. Do not drill the hole all the way thru. Tape will also keep the goo flush with gell coat. Remove tape when set.. Wipe off excess epoxy with isopropal alcohol. Drill new holes when epoxy cures.
