The wife and I went out on Lake Washington today to watch the Blue Angels exercises. Real neat, they fly and do manuevers right over your head. Many low altitude flybys. We've done this for the several years since I bought my boat.

Jerry

Re: Blue Angels

They're doing an airshow near here (NAS Oceana) in about a month. They practice all around here for several days before the airshow...pretty neat to watch and pretty loud.

Re: Blue Angels

And believe me, you are privileged, the Blue Angels are VERY good. As an ex-RAF military fast jet pilot I'm not BSing here. Most RAF pilots don't have that much respect for the average guy in the USN or USAF, but the best guys are awesomely good and IMHO the Angels are WAY better than the Thunderbirds. I did 4 seasons of display flying and have seen the Frecce Tricolori, the Red Arrows, the Patrouille de France, the Angels, the 'Birds, the Roulettes (ho hum!) and lots of civilian teams over the years like the old Rothmans team. Still think the Angels put on the loudest, fastest and tightest display with the Red Arrows a close second and the T-birds third. Lets just hope the world's third largest Air Force - the USMC - don't form a team, they could call it the "Flat Tops", or maybe they have already? :D
