Re: Best IE lakes and why??

As far as I'm concerned, the only IE lakes I like are in the mountains..Big Bear and Silverwood. The why is because over the years I've grown accustomed to larger lakes on the river and the Colorado River chain as a whole where you can get away from it all. It's just a different world. Crowds, lines at the entrance, etc. are all reasons. (Reminds me of why I don't like Katherine Landing on Mohave either).

The last time I was at Perris I was handed a pamphlet stating "Do not defecate in the lake. Do not wash diapers in the lake." That's the last time I went there, over 25 years ago.

I haven't been on the mountain lakes in quite a while either, but I do frequent the mountains.

I'd go with Big Bear and Silverwood. I'm a little further north, at Eagle Lake right now. i prefer the north east lakes myself. It definitely has a lot to do with the people I get to know. I work in the high tech industry and it's sooooo nice to get back to reality and live life like it's supposed to be lived. The fishing is pretty good too!

Perris was drained a few years ago for earthquake fears...it's half the lake it used to be...lake Elsinore is dirty in my opinion..shallow...silver wood is nice if you go during the week...it's just worth it to make the drive to the colorado river or havasu, mead, or Mohave...I decided to store my boat in Parker... So I have an excuse to go visit her...every chance I get!!
