Best adhesive to use for interior trim

A interior rubber "U" style trim is coming off the edge of the fiberglass. Looking for the best adhesive to put in the groove and reinstall.

I'm not sure how you would put adhesive inside the trim slot and not make a big mess. I've used the 3M spray adhesives with good results and they make a trim adhesive. Google search for 3M super trim adhesive. I would tape off the glass where you don't want the adhesive and put a drop cloth behind it then spray on the adhesive.
