Hi All, I own a 2009 Mercury 75hp 2-stroke (3 cylinder). I have recently noticed that there were two blue coloured wires (coming out from under the oil tank) that one was disconnected on one end and where the join sucker was. it turns out it is related to the Switch Assembly (reading the tag attached to it).
After connecting the wire back, upon turning the key there was a loud Beep from the control box.
My research suggests this is related to low OIL level. However that was definitely not the case for me as my oil tank was full. I can still start the motor easily but the sound wont go away.

I would really like to know what is causing the beeping sound. I have disconnected the wire for now.

any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers
Andy

welcome aboard.

you need to remove the oil tank, clean it out and see if the sensor is stuck and needs cleaning, or needs replacing.

Thanks very much Scott.

On top of what you just mentioned I was also able to find this Youtube video which talks about how the floating metal piece that triggers the magnetic sensor when come close to it whenever the oil level reaches below the certain line.

Such good learning.

Thanks again 🙂
