Battery replacement?

I have a Crownline 7.4MPI 310HP 27' bow rider and would like advice on replacing my boat batteries. They are currently 3 years old and working fine but what type and size battery is recommended if I need to replace them this summer?

Batteries normally last 5-6 years, in my experience. I would think you will want two 27 series starting/deep cycle combo batteries, or maybe one deep cycle battery and one starting battery.

Batteries in my boats have always lasted at least 5 years. But boat batteries always get some tough use. They often sit for long periods with no use and then lots of use for short periods of time. Heat and cold take their toll too. I don’t know what size or type or how many batteries or what each is used for. You can test the batteries both for charge and a load test to see what condition they are in.
I just guessing that you have 2 starting batteries. If you replace them then replace them with 27 series marine batteries. You don’t have to pay high prices for replacement batteries. For my boats and my cars for 20 plus years I’ve bought either Walmart or Costco batteries and they have all lasted 5plus years. About $100 per battery.

I have 2 NAPA CA 675 and CCA 550 24 Series batteries.
I purchased the boat with these batteries 4 years ago when they were new. The boat is 21 years old and I was just wondering if these were the best type of batteries for my boat

Since you have group 24 batteries now and they have served you well then replace them with group 24 batteries. Even though they aren’t that old you may want to replace them now for peace of mind. Nothing worse than being out there somewhere and the boat not starting.
Napa , Costco and Walmart batteries are all very similar. I don’t think one is better than the other. Suggest you buy one of those brands and get which ever one is the cheapest and has the longest warranty.

Test the batteries before each use, and then again after, and then a 3rd time the next day. The voltage changes will tell you exactly when you need to replace them.

Replace with group 24s, both dual purpose, and get them from AutoZone. At present they are the most cost effective quality batteries.

As an option, your owner's manual should identify the factory requirements.

I have learned one very important thing when it comes to marine and automotive batteries. Of all the batteries sold in the US and Canada 80% to 90% of those batteries are or were at least 10 years ago manufactured by the same company. China probably supplies them now. Even Interstate that I always bought fatihfully sells batteries. Not a single Interdtate battery was made by Interstate. Great marketing and a lesson in brand name. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Start shopping for batteries in a few years but if I got 5 years out of a battery why would I shop around. Another thing I learned is every battery has a limited number of times it can be recharged when it has gone dead, usually down to below 20% of full charge. The least or most number of times it can be recharged reflects the cost of the battery new. Hope this helps.

Gee, check prices at wallyworld and autozone. here in NJ, Wallyworld is 40% cheaper, at least.

Gave up on “marine” batteries long ago. Tried several of the popular brands. Never got more than a couple of seasons out of them.

Bought a pair of AC Delco grp 27 at the recommendation of a friend. Replaced the 1-2-both battery switch with an ACR while o was at it and never looked back.

Current batteries (Walmart Everstart and Interstate SRM) are almost 11 years old. Both load test but the Interstate has a leaking battery post. Plan to replace both this Spring as PM.

Leaning towards going with Interstate EFB series but certainly would entertain going with the Everstart again at the right price.
