Re: battery charger

Everything that I can find on the internet, about this model, agrees with your salesman:

"Full-time maintenance function."

I prefer my battery maintainers to be 2 amp. My AGM battery actually called for 2 amp...no higher.

Have you read the enclosed instructions, that come with your Guest?

Re: battery charger

I have two similar model Guest chargers. After topping up the batteries, they go to maintenance mode, and can be left on indefinitely.

Re: battery charger

Electricians should stick to their primary task which does not include phone and network wiring (unless they have been explicitly trained in the process) and as in this case, it does not include advice on high tech marine power systems. Sorry guys -- you fall in the same category as proctologists doing brain surgery. Same arena (medicine) but different knowledge required. Your electrician is ok on the input side of the device (I hope) but does not understand the technology in the new chargers or what makes a battery tick so his advice is very wrong. And I happen have used this very charger on at least three boats -- none of which ever required a battery change and the charger was plugged in from lay-up in the fall until splashing in the spring.
