I thought I would leave it on while I am not there to charge the batteries and so on then I realized that I left on my batteries.. is this bad.. Maybe I am supposed to leave on hte battiries..I usually turn them off and thats it.. did I screw up??

Hey Imp...need a little more info.Do you have an auto charger? If you don't have a chager attatched, and you left anything 12v on you may have dead batteries(worst case). Shore power being left on is O.K.. If your worried about it call the marina, ask them to turn power off, your on Simcoe aren't you?

Jim

Hi yea. I am in the big bay piont marina..
the shore power is on and as I understand it charges the batteries when not there. I dont think there is nothing on maybe a fridge but the shore power should keep the batteries from going dead .. I think.. there are 2 batteries..I called the marina and they siad its ok but I wanted a second opinion.. I usually always turn off batteries.. maybe UI dont have to.. If I want to leave the fridge on for exmaple I would have to leave the bats on correct..

Some boats like my Regal for example wire the fridge to the batteries only so I have to leave my charger on or shut the fridge. Most boats switch over to shore power when plugged in so the fridge wont drain the batteries and you can have the fridge on w/o draining the batteries and then you dont need to leave the charger on.The type of charger you have may make a difference too.Either way dont sweat it.Charlie
