I went to a Bass Pro Shop for the first time today in St. Louis, Mo. WOW!

I bought a $10 three drawer Plano tackle box and much to my surprise it was made in America. :)

Also a whole bunch of artifical baits, only spent $25 for the whole works. ;)

I'm a hug fan of Plano products, probably have 10 of their tackle boxes and they all work great.

I broke (my fault) a buckle/latch on my trusty ol' Plano tackle box and Emailed Plano customer service asking how much replacemnt parts were. A couple days later I received the replacement parts free of charge. Not only did they replace the broken latch, they also sent me a replacement for the other latch that wasn't broken. Now, how's that for customer service!

I live 3 1/2 miles from the Cincinnati Bass Pro Shop. The girlfriend says i spend so much time there i should just move in. Do you think they would mind if i just camped out in the camping department? It's sad I'm getting to the point when i go there i keep saying to myself nope i don't need that, nope all ready got that, etc.

You got out of BASS PRO with only spending $25.00!!! Wow... I am banned from that store without my wife coming along. I spend a couple of hundred every time I go alone.:D

While they do carry lots of outdoors stuff, they don?t do a great job, with local fishing needs. Here in Michigan we have a much different need than say an ocean coastal location. I guess if size matters than they are a decent store, but I think Cabelas has much better quality products. They sell and service Tracker boats here in Michigan, and almost every person who deals with them about boat service is really disappointed, lacking almost everything a boat owner would expect after a purchase. Because the store is 3 miles from my house, I do shop there for certain items, but big ticket stuff always comes from Cabelas.

+1 on Cabela's. Never been in a store but their mail order is excellent.

I have no problem with Cabela's either, like DECK SWABBER I've never been in a store but have ordered from them many times. Personally I like them both.

the closest BPS to me is about 2 hours away but definitely worth the drive... their prices are good for the most part (not everything), but there are a few good deals to find there.

Re: Bass Pro Shop

I'm worse than a drunk at a bar at BPS.

LOL, I know the feeling, my husband groans when I head out the door to Cabela's, he knows I cannot get out of there without buying something in the fishing section, I can't help it.

Some women do therapy shopping for shoes and clothes, some women do therapy shopping in the fish section of Cabela's or BPS if you have one of those instead.

Luckily, I am the latter type of shopper, my husband can at least use what I buy without me freaking out when I caught him :p
