I am new to the Harrisburg, PA area, and am looking to get on the susquehanna river north of the city for the first time this summer to do some bass fishing. I hear it is supposed to be great around the confluence with the Juniata, which is about 2 minutes from my house, so i am getting pretty anxious to get out there. Any tips on tackle or hot spots in the area are greatly appreciated.

Thanx!!

Smallmouth fishing is great through your area. As a first timer, I would recommend hiring a guide for a day to save you a lot of unproductive time. Bob Clouser and his son run a well known and respected service in your area that might be worth looking into. From my understanding, he books up very fast as soon as the weather becomes more promising.

Try fishing by Three Mile Island. I hear the fish light up at night and are easy to see.
