I was recently sent information the join North American Fishing Club as a life member. Not sure if I should. Is anyone part of that Club? Is there really any benfits, hidden cost, or is it a book club for life?

dang you should be impressed to be invited to that elite club ;)

i just kept the sticker and threw the rest of that spam in the trash. i was a little impressed at the offer for a free pack of 3 hooks (something like that)! i got that offer after buying an InFisherman video, so i really don't know much about it, sorry.

Re: Asked to join a Fishing Club

I spent the $12 and joined. I have to say that the magazine is very good. They have many articles written by current and retired pro anglers. They have an excellent section on Q&A with answers from Bill Dance and another pro I can’t remember but it may be Jimmy Houston. It is probably the best fishing mag out there. It may not be as good as the Georgia Outdoor News but it is probably the best all fishing mag period. I’ve been a member for 9 months and haven’t been able to evaluate any products at all though. Kind of disappointed I haven’t been able to evaluate but the club is worth the magazine alone.

Don't hold your breath waiting to evaluate porducts. Pretty good mag for 12 bucks, though.

I "got invited" also and subscribed for a year. It was a pretty good mag however it seemed to only cover the northern states with alot of walleye and muskie stuff. Bass fishing coverage in the south was rare. Also, the info. seemed somewhat dated as I would read of a new product or technique elsewhere, then about a month later it would appear in this mag. Made good bathroom reading though ;)

Hey, thanks for the info guys...but they want $285 for a life time membership, and I get a free rod and reel for the deal...I'll just stick to the magazine for 12 bucks a year...got enough rods and reels...and if I need a new one, I'll pick them out myself.

I joined about 8 years ago and so far so good. I like the magasine (similar to In-fisherman but not as expensive to subscribe). I've field tested products at least 6 times but you have to apply to field test each time after you test a product. I've tested storm crankbaits, pork rind baits, fishing pliers, and boat cleaner to name a few and still got all the stuff. I haven't had anything real expensive to try out but the products in general have been good. I haven't been sent any video's but did get an excellent bass fishing book for cheap as an intro offer. Sent back the next one return to sender since the cost was too high. Overall it's a pretty good club and I live in Canada which adds a bit extra cost due to our dollar difference and the higher shipping from the US to here.
