Two news flashes today.<br /><br />1. The Ninth Circuit Court (San Franciso) has declared that the Second Amendment does not allow individuals to own firearms. <br /><br />2. The National Highway Transportation and Safety Agency (NHTSA) is investigating the use of GPS systems in vehicles. They believe they may be a safety hazard.

WHAT?<br /><br />Is this for real?<br /><br />You have a link to the news story?<br /><br />No, CELL PHONES are the issue while driving, not GPS systems...(IMHO)<br /><br />H.

Hommerr,<br /><br />I've heard it on several radio newsbroadcasts. It's got to be real.<br /><br />The Nith Circuit thing is the most troublesome. That just about guarentees it's going to the US Supreme Court. Remember, they're (Ninth) that said the pledge (not the God part) was also unconstitutional.

The radical 9th circuit court is the MOST overturned court from appeal when compared to all the other circuits. Not a big deal.....Yet

I guess some of you get a little tired of my preaching about liberty.<br /><br />If someone wants to stretch interpretation of "the people" and "keep and bear arms" to mean that it is allowed to join the National Guard I am not surprised. :( <br /><br />If that interpretation includes the notion that it is allowed to deny private citizens (the people?) the right to own (keep?) and to use (bear?) firearms in legal pursuits I am not surprised. :( <br /><br />I am outraged. Just not surprised. :(

While this upsets me I can understand part of it. Anything that makes you take your eyes off the road can be a hazard. I suspect people fiddling with the GPS with road map trying to drive using that little screen has caused a few accidents.

Peter,<br /><br />So does: putting on makeup, eating, tuning the radio, shaving and numerous other things.<br /><br />The system I use just talks to you. You don't have to look at the screen.

This is absurd. But trust me, the apeals have been filed, and cooler American heads will prevail.<br />The ninth Circuit Court are indeed, the same socialist bunch that claim the Pledge of Allegiance was unconstituional...Nobody paid them any mind then iether, other than to rapidy apeal, and overturn it. The "ninth Circus" is a finite group in it's present form. Changes are in the werks for this group of luney tunes judges.<br />And this "declaration" may just be the one that get's them de-benched.

Well I don’t think too much about the 9th Circuit Court. It is a joke as far as I am concerned, there the Hitler Circus Court, and I did say Circus. <br /><br />The radio was the blame before the cell phone and the GPS. What about eating in a vehicle or just not paying attention looking out the side of the vehicle?

All I can say is....<br /><br />'Only from my cold dead fingers'<br /><br />'nuff said...<br /><br />Does anyone else agree that IF they somehow passed a gun ban to all people, that we would face another civil war?<br /><br />I've asked a few of my military friends: "Would you fire on your own people in the event of taking our guns away"<br /><br />They promptly said...NO.<br /><br />H.

Re: Are We Losing Our Minds???

You all know if you've read my posts I'm anti regulation, but there is a problem with cell phones. Something about them makes people wander to the shoulder, miss a red light turning green, and a lot more. It is like you can't see, can't remember where you've been when you're talking on one. You have to put the driving on autopilot when you are using one and apply special effort and concentration at a yield or 4 way stop or other driving task that requires more attention. Some people are better at this than others, and I don't like the idea of one of these others running into any of mine. Every single female I see nowadays has a silly grin on her face, buried in a phone conversation as she blasts down the road with nary a side glance. We men are bad about it too, but I like to think we don't use them for chit chat as much.

Re: Are We Losing Our Minds???

AMEN BROTHER!!!<br /><br />I've wanted to make a couple of large signs for cell phone users:<br /><br />1. "THANK YOU FOR PULLING OVER TO TALK"<br /><br />I've seen a FEW people actually pull to the side of the road and do this. THANK YOU!!!<br /><br />~AND~<br /><br />2. PAY ATTENTION TO THE ROAD AND GET OFF YOUR CELL PHONE IDIOT!<br /><br />Well, we've all seen these people. <br /><br />But then again, if I held these signs up, they'd probably wreck reading it, and I'll get sued...<br /><br />Again, I'm not bashing all of you DWC (driving while cell-phoning) folks. Just the ones that nearly tore the front of my car off.<br /><br />H.

They need to remove the speedometer from my truck. It distracts me. I have to look down to check my speed to make sure I'm not speeding. While checking the speed, my eyes and mind are not 100% in front (can't be 2 places at once). <br /><br />Govt, please remove all speedometers, etc from vehicles so we can pay 100% attention to the road.<br /><br />Also, come with a lot of body bags to get my guns!

Re: Are We Losing Our Minds???

On cell phones I have one (damn wife's leash) but I never answer it while in traffic and I pull over to call someone. The answer I use when driving is hello I am on the road I will call you back if you tell me who it is. Of course it is only one of 3 people my wife, my mother or my best friend who almost never calls me on it unless I am running late. I know many other people have it as I live outside the local calling zone my friends have but funny my cell phone never rings my wife's however rings non-stop.
