What's the general concensus on using aftermarket parts vs OEM parts.

Specifically ignition related items (points, condensers, coils, ect)

i have used mostly after market stuff without to much problems but it looks like points are more and more being manufactured cheaply and out of specs even BRP stuff so anything goes I guess cheap is cheap

10-15$ condensers can be repaired at low cost see article yet some will jusr mount without stuffing them in the old cans

I saw a video where the guy bought BRP points that were absolute trash.

I guess I'm buying aftermarket. Thanks.

What's the general concesus on using used points, condensers, and coils pulled from a junkyard ?

------evinrudeparts.ca-----Might be able to help you.

Just spoke with Mike. Good guy. Still covered in snow. Won't be able to get in for a few weeks at least , until it melts. Thanks !

There’s one in or near Fenlon Falls however their google reviews are poor.

I’ve used evinrudeparts.ca. Prices seem good and delivery was quick. No complaints
