Are there any recreational crabbers from New Jersey (NJ) here?

Looking for a place to go crabbing in New Jersey because it's crabbing season. New Jersey towns are notorious for being unfriendly to out-of-towners. Restrictions to parking or high parking fees are there to deter people from coming. Nonetheless, I would like to find a place where one could go crabbing with kids in tow. I've looked in Northern New Jersey and there isn't much. Looking through the maps, there seem to be some south of Newark, but I have no idea where to even begin. A friend goes down towards Island Beach and spends a week down there annually. I'm looking for something I can do with a day trip.

Anyone know if there are spots between Union County to Hudson County?

Beautiful water in Monmouth County (Sandy Hook Bay & the rivers there). Free public ramps are a problem, there are a couple on the Shrewsbury. There is at least one $20 ramp in Red Bank on the Navesink. Both rivers are good for crabbing. Atlantic Highlands has a big ramp that is right on the bay ($25 last I knew, but that was years ago).
