Are any of the Fichts worth having?

Am wondering if any of the model year Fichts are worth owning, or should you be afraid of all of them? 225hp or 250hp.

a buddy of mine has a pairof 225's swears by them. funny thing is he is in the outboard business.Apparently there were some issues that he believes were taken care of.He bought them for a song because the previous owner was in a panic when OMC went under and the guy went for a pair of new yammies,the fichts had no problem at the time,he has run to Bahamas and back many times ,no prob.

I don't have a particular unit in mind, just trying to research the best option. I don't know if there are model years to avoid.
