Am considering the purchase of a Hydra Sports walk around. Anyone have an opinion on this brand of boat?

I knew a guy who had one in the late 1980's. It seemed to be a well built boat and definitely well above entry level in terms of construction,features and overall quality.

My buddy had a 20' Vector and it was great!<br />Never had problems, reliable, stable ride.<br />The only negative is that they are heavy boats.<br />Otherwise, great overall boat.

I bought a used (95) 21 tunnel in 2005 and have no regrets.....even though it is a saltwater boat, the previous owner kept it up really well. Have had it 2 years....it is a heavy hull but a real champ both in the bays and in "nearshore" waters.

I've had 2 18'cc kevlar '85 and '83 and it's the dryest,smoothest riding boat in its size range.I've had anywhere from a yamaha 90 too a 135 merc and 150 suzuki.

Any other opinions as I am looking at the 29 or 33 center console. I am wondering what other family friendly fishing boats I should be considering. I have also looked at Boston Whaler, Grady White. I will throw in Intrepid since it does have nice ammenities like the ones above. Please share which one you consider to be the best.

For true hard core fisherman (which I am not), I had looked at Contender, SeaVee and Venture but have counted them out since they are more for fisherman and have less family friendly ammenities.

I am on my 2nd Hydra-Sport Boat. Current model is a 2400CC. I am very satisfied with the Hydra-Sport. Build quality is solid and it is a great offshore boat. I have had no issues with the boat and would highly recommend.

Excellent hs boats,I've had both cc & cd mid-80's models and also believe they are as good if not better than current offerings ! 2400lbs(dry 24'cd),1100lbs(18cc) ,kevlar reinforced,super strong transoms !The only issues I have found is insuring them so its viable to rig with current power.$600 w/gieco /yr will only reimburse you $6500 reguardless of a $15000 engine,no agreed value reimbursement that I can find!

I just sold an 86 hydrasport bass/runabout. one of the best built boats I have ever been in and very well built and easy to work on, my boat ran a 200hp merc black max and I live 7500' above sea level and it was perfect (after a few jet replacements:redface

have a 93' 20' 2000 vector this boat is a better ride than most 24 footers with trim tabs its perfect heavy but that s what you wont

Right on, I know my runabout had a nice thick hull and it kinda gives a nice piece of mind, I do like the heavier boats I have found! I sure wish I still had her

I bought a "Hydraskiff" bay boat in 1996 and have enjoyed many hours of fun in that boat-even though the price was reasonable it has been a good tough boat for me and my family-only drawback was they didn't package it with enough trailer for a 22 foot center console so I changed out the trailer...longie
