Anyone fishing is Shasta Lake in Redding CA?

Fellas,
anyone fishing in Lake Shasta? Looking for some pointers on what's the best way to catch some fish.
Tried all last summer, but didn't catch squat. And of course i'm sure it's something i'm doing wrong.
Can someone help me out?
