Hi, My friends and I are planning a trip to La Cygnes lake in Kansas on thanks giving day. Just wonder if anyone fish there before, I heard that this time of the year, the fish are active in the warm water coming out of the power plant. Just wonder what type of fish are there.

Sorry so late in reply. Hadn't checked this particular forum in a while.

Hope you had a good time. And wish I'd have noticed your thread earlier. I've got some friends in the area because some relatives used to live there.

I never fished the area but did a good deal of time flipping rocks for reptiles and other little creepy-crawlies. Old 69 highway is one of the bestest and most funest spots I know for such endeavors. No one on here probably cares but the world's prettiest crotalis horridus hail from just north of there. And anywhere from the majestic flints on southward where rocky outcrops prevail you're sure to be right in the thick of a herpetoculturist's dreamscape.

I love that part of this continent!
