50 hp evinrude 75 model solenoid wires where do they go. i already know where the big wires go. its the small ones that i'm not sure about. there is a S post and a I post. i have a small wire that grounds to the power head. need to no if it goes to the S post or the I post. also have a red wire need to no the same. s or i post. any help would be great. hope this is not to confusing

It doesn't really matter, bandit.<br />One of the posts is a ground and the other is for the red wire from the "start" switch.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

watch out 4 the smoke ???. Has the solenoid been changed?. The i post could come live in cranking position and if connected to ground (via short lead) IT WILL SMOKE UP Red wire should go to S post

Hooty is right. One post goes to ground and it don't matter which. The solenoid mounts to the side of the engine with a rubber collar and half round retainer. I usually just run the bottom small post to ground. ;) ;)
