I want my mechanic to redo my bellows and impeller he said for me to get the parts:

I am planning on buying these and having him install it, is everything correct?

He also mentioned that you normally replace the shift cable with the bellow.

Re: Am I buying the right parts?

I found this guy on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merc...3794029QQptZBoatQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesQ5fGear

Goes by Jim and I found him to be helpful because I just wanted to tell the guy my serial numbers and get the right parts the first time. Apparently in 1998 the Alpha One GenII's got a different gimbal bearing than what is sold in most kits. I don't really know how important it is to keep same/same or if an older one would work. He also has the shift cables. The other thing I liked about his kit after I shopped around is that everything is stainless. Some kits apparently try to use stainless clamps but regular screws etc... He also includes a stainless clamp for the shift bellows instead of the crimp a clamp or a plastic tie wrap. I ordered my kit minus the u-joints because mine weren't in bad shape. It was my shift bellows that gave up, the u-joint bellows were still good so no salt water in the joints. He took off the price of the u-joints for me. I figure, the u-joints are accessible without having to take the bellows off, if they fail in the future, no big deal just pop the outdrive off. I am not trying to replace every part -- just the usual suspects...

That kit is not for a Gen II, so don't buy it.
If you want just the bellows, here is the one you need Click here

If you want the complete kit, you want This One

The parts above are OEM Mercruiser parts, not aftermarket.

If you want the aftermarket version try here or here

Typically, mechanics buy the parts.
They kinda frown on the "customer" supplying them.
This has a lot to do with warranty issues plus they make money on it too.

My mechanic told me to get the parts and he would even show me how to do it. This guy seems to enjoy the job more than getting paid, I normally pay more than what he asks. Any idea how much I should pay him for this and the impeller?
