Recently replaced bellows, gimbal bearing and trim limit & sender on 2002 Bayliner. Somehow, during the process, one of the cylinders, while disconnected, extended. In order to connect the cylinders to the outdrive I push the up botton and the unextended cylinder extended to the length of the other. I connected the cyclinders to the outdrive (outdrive is up as far as it will go now) but now it won't come down.

I hear the pump running when the up button is pushed but not when I push the down button. I do hear the solenoid engage but the pump isn't running. Had no problem with triming up or down before tearing the outdrive down. Any ideas what could be my problem? Thanks.

take a heavy jumper from the pos battery and touch the Green wire from the pump pump should run. If yes, the solenoid is bad

Problem solved. I seriously consider jumping the pump like you suggested. Instead, I decided to use my volt ohm meter and see if I was getting power out of the solenoid. Turned out I wasn't, even thought the solenoid sounded like it was closing. I had purchased solenoids years ago just in case I needed them, so I had some on hand. Installed both and everything works great. Thanks so much for the tip and the quick response.
