I really love my Honda, but you have managed to to spark my interest in the EFI 4's. And since I am currently looking for a larger boat....

Question, I know the 70 Zuki is sold by Evinrude, but are the larger ones too?
I may just have to try one out.

Nav.

Wesal1,

Haven't you ever heard the old saying "The heck with a TEN, 2 FIVES are more fun!!!!".
I'll take a pair of Honda 130's over a single 250 any day....

Honda's 200 and 225 should be out sometime in the DEC-FEB time frame. This will be based on the V-TEC V6 that is in the Passport and Accord.

Hitman

Re: Ahoy, Navigator! Did I mention...

Hey, Nav. So far Evinrude only offers the 70 and smaller. My guess is that if Bombardier pays for the hundreds of engines Evinrude bought and didn't pay for, we may be seeing up to 200/250 EFI 4 stroke Evinrudes made by Suzi.

Hi, Wes. Yamaha, too, may be making bigger EFI 4 strokes soon. I keep hearing these rumors that CA has not only forbid the sale of 2 strokes, they will forbid their use very soon. I agree that Yamaha has a well-earned rep as making the best and giving the best service in the business. The Suzis are near bulletproof because they are using engines (in the DF70) with millions of hours of severe usage, The Yamahas are simply made right the first time.

Red Sky.....
JB

Say, Wesal. I wonder if a senior like me could live on your insurance premiums. If you don't carry insurance, of course, I would appreciate your itinerary so I can stay out of your way.

I wonder why it is that people like to brag of risking their lives and the lives of those in their way. Is that a tenet of the Macho religion?

Red sky....JB

Hey Wesal. Is this part of some Macho religion or something?? Bragging about violating a rarely enforced law, placing your own life at risk, and, worst of all, the lives of anyone who gets in your way.?? Let me know where you will be, when, so I can be somewhere else.

JB

Re: Ahoy, Navigator! Did I mention...

Hey JB,
Calm down! I know I was opening a can of worms. I do have insurance (cost alot) and I am very carefull. I called contender and spoke with the some of the engineers all of which said this was not a problem at all. I do not use wot to get on plane and I do not run wot in rough seas. But when there are 5 boats heading to the same spot me being the smallest of all (2 of the other boats are normally 35 contenders with triple 250's) I need the extra help getting there.
I am a young person unlike your self and I do not have the wisdom that you do. I do have a ego and macho problem. Maybe someday I will out grow these. Also I was not bragging about the boat, motor, breaking of the law, or the risking of my life.
Please don't jump to conclusions about not being safe (I did take the time to call contender multi times untill I could speak with someone who designed the boat) If you ask me I think what is not safe is a bass boat that is less than half the size of my boat with a 250 running 80 mph on a river.

I am young and I am going to make mistake's but I do try and take advise from folks that have already been there.

Sorry about not responding I do have to work every now and again. I do not think you are a jerk

I tring to learn to take criticism a little better But I think that religion thing you talk about kept's getting in the way or maybe it could be my temper or maybe it is my age (21) my wife keeps telling me that I will learn someday ( I hope so )

No hard feeling
wink.gif

Wesley

P.S.
My car insurance is alot more than the boat. I have wrecked two lexus's in the past year
(never had a ticket)

Re: Ahoy, Navigator! Did I mention...

Hey, Wesal. Apologies for my outburst. I've just seen too many of those 80 mph missiles ruin family boaters' days and a couple of times destroy lives.

When I was 21 I, too, thought I was immortal. A few direct confrontations with death changed that.

Red Sky....
JB
