Adapting a Similar Size Carb - 1985 Mercury 110 7.5hp

On automotive engines - in the older days- it wasn't uncommon to swap out for a newer aftermarket carb.
I have searched extensively and can't find a new carb for my 1985 Mercury 110 7.5hp 2-stroke outboard.
It seems if I could find a similar size carb - preferably newer with parts available - that it's just a matter of air/fuel mixture - that I could adapt it to work on my 1985 7.5hp Mercury.
Thoughts?

Nothing goes wrong with them to warrant replacement.----What is your motor doing / not doing ?----What trouble shooting has been done?

I probably just need to clean it, but there isn't even a rebuild kit for it.
But yes, if I'm very careful, I probably could just tear it down, clean it up, and put it back together by reusing the parts.

I checked again. I see some parts and a gasket set.
.
I'll try looking other places also.
Thanks again.

Your 1985 carb is same as the 1979-1985 7.5hp carbs

The 9.8hp is same motor, just different carb and timing

Hi think your engine might actually be a 1982. Anyway…you should be able to strip down the carb and clean it well, without absolutely needing a gasket kit. Unless you find anything perished beyond service.
