98 johnson 35hp runs on 1 cylinder????

Thanks in advance for all your help. My engine is running on the middle cylinder only at idle. I swapped the coils around and all 3 work on the middle cylinder. Is this normal for idle?

What's your compression on all 3 cyl's ??

I removed the top and bottom wires while running, doesn't make any changes. It will start and idle without plugs in top and bottom cylinders.
125 psi compression on all three.

Now for the dumb question. Will the spark jump a 7/16" open air gap with a spark tester on the other two cyls ??

Roger that! the spark test is great on all three..Very hot ignition. I went back into the carbs last night, adjusted floats. Try it in the lake tomorrow!

Still... no luck! engine will idle ok. Give it throttle it falls on its face!
