94 Johnson venom 200 Bogging in forward

So I recently had my powerhead rebuilt due to the block, locking up and replaced the whole powerhead assembly, I had the carbs
rebuilt along with new fuel, lines, prime, and bulb spark, plugs, power pack and new stator put on because I assumed the old one was going bad but after both of them side-by-side both my stators are good the issue I’m having going forward the motor bogs down and will not plane but in reverse, I have full power and can move the boat around and back it off. The trailer just fine. I’ve done just about all the troubleshooting that I have knowledge of and I’ve asked quite a few people that are Johnson mechanics, and everybody seems to be stumped by this, so any insight would help

You do not have full power in reverse.-----The prop is turning in water / exhaust and allows it to rev up easily.----Just sounds like it has full power.----Are wires FROM the powerpack going to the right coils ?-----With motor idling pull plug wires off one at a time and listen for change of RPM.-----Checked the flywheel key ?----Carburetor bowls checked for warpage ?----Are all the high speed jets in place in the bottom of the float bowls?

So yes, the wires are going to the correct run of coil packs, I have unplugged, a spark, plug wire off of each plug and tested and yes, you can hear the misfire with each coil pack becoming unplugged. The fly key is in place and the flow is locked down so I know that is not an issue, when the carburetors were rebuilt, they were checked, and as far as the high-speed jets being in place, unless they could slide out, that should not be the issue, I wish I was able to take a video and send it to y’all to show you what it’s doing to try to better explain

Could the rectifier being bad cause this issue I have one on the way
Rectification is done in the voltage regulator.
A failure causes crazy tachometer readings amongst others.

Reuse the old OMS pump?
Vacuum leak in fuel supply lines?

Oms is bypassed and that will be my next thing to check but as far as I know my fuel system is solid as far as pressure goes I just put a new fuel filter on it again and I am headed to go test what I’ve done

Did you do a sync and link on carbs? Bottom carbs opening? Does it idle?

Did a sync link prior to setting time and idles fantastic, just soon as I put it in gear to go forward and give it gas it just bogs. It don’t spit and sputter just bogs

Also I did change stators, only thing different from the old powerhead, what if the stator I’m using isn’t sending enough power to the cdi could that be an issue, I honed out the triggers with it off and both read pretty close 76ohm and the old stator did as well

Did you sync the carbs and adjust correctly....in water ,in gear ,,,,not on hose

Is the timing base moving freely? It should start to move before the throttle plates open. I had one get sticky from goo leaking down from a stator once.

As far as I can tell yes, I’m fixing to put a new timer base on and cdi panel and reset timing

Check the magnets on the inside of the flywheel while you have it off. I had a bunch come loose. They are only epoxied to the flywheel and can and will come loose and move out of place.

So I went and bought a new timing light for the giggles, at idle I was TDC vs 4° and wot I was 12° vs 18°, I have it dialed in to 4° on muffs but haven’t put it in the water yet could this been my issue from the get go

They are fine just made a reply I believe I found a timing issue but I don’t work in 2 strokes a lot in cars 4° isn’t to much and cause a running issue but is it for a boat motor

Maximum timing advance is around 20 degrees.
Well I was under advance timing using a car timing gun I bought a analog timing gun and have advance timing set to 0° on the gun my old timing gun had it 4° off the new gun so it was retarted
