There is a beeping type alarm when I run my boat. It was about every other second and now it is continuous and when I try to plane out, the motor shuts down automatically. I am able to restart and idle all day long but it will not let me plane. Is this a safty feature and if so does anyone know what is going on within?

Hang tuff....one of the OMC Gurus will step in and help ya out afore long. I know there are many system safetys on some of those engines, the SLOW mode for example, but I think that is an overheat sensor-trigger to lower RPM to 2000.
