Hey Gang,

New to the site. Feel like I've hit the jackpot here - So much intel! Been reading all the posts! Just picked up a winter resto project - an 89 Starcraft Bluewater 221 Offshore - fiberglass. Having a hard time finding any info about the boat. Think they were only made 86 - 89? Cockpit was trashed, with lot's of work to do. Any direction on print info, pics, pointers, anything would be welcomed. I've bumped into a few guys with similar boats and have taken a ton of pics and started a support group. Ha! Thanks in advance!

BC, That's the first one of that model that I've seen. I have an 89 Mariner (aluminum CC). I've been looking for an 89 brochure for a while now with no luck. If you manage to run into one, please let us know.

And, welcome to iboats and the Starcraft forums.

Thanks. Will do. Got pics of about 6 other 221 fiberglass hard & soft tops from MI that I've bumped into the last couple months, but nobody has any info on them. One guy even said the hull was made by Whaler for Starcraft, but I don't know. Will post pics as the resto continues!

Nice rig broadcast:) Welcome to iboats and the ever-growing starcraft club.

Your hardtop is very similar to my dad's 23' Seaswirl Striper walkaround. Great for fishing in ANY weather conditions with the helm protected so much:D

Welcome Broadcast to the SC club/cult/cabal.
Love the lines of your boat. The cabin flows with the hull.

Welcome to the club. Another SE Michigander I see. Nice looking boat there, I bet she handles the lakes real nice.

Thanks guys. I am a fish'in fool and bought this little pocket rocket to fix up and trailer to Lake Ontario to chase after some big King Salmon. Couldn't tell you how she handles the water yet as I've not even fired it up. Bought it, brought it home, and started stripping it down! Trying to get the restoration going, but tough in the winter without a pole barn. :( Will try and post some pics as I go, just need to figure out how to do it in bulk.

Let's try this - here's a bunch of other Starcraft Bluewater 221 boat pics - similar to mine, that I've hunted down the last few months. Maybe it will help somebody else as a reference.

I have a 88 221 offshore. Same as yours but no hard top. I picked it up a few years ago and have been fixing it up a little here and there between fishing trips. Im in St. Clair MI and probably not too far if you have any questions. You'll love the boat once you hit the water with her, I know I like the way mine handles the water.

From what I learned about these boats are, they were made from 87-89 and Boston Whaler made the hulls for starcraft. I believe only the 89's had the option of the hard top. At least I have only seen 89's with the bluewater top.

Reel Deal,

Thanks for the comback! Alwyas nice to bump into another Starcraft owner. I'm in Richmond, so not that far from St.Clair at all! I find out a little more everyday 'bout these boats. Think they were made 87 - 93. There's a 93 HT for sale on Craiglook right now in OH. If you check my signature pics of my 89, you can see the cockpit is in rough shape. Any pics you could post of your beauty may help as a reference. Look forward to chatting more!

jeff

I thought that boat looked familiar. I was chatting with ya over on Great lakes angler, I remember when you got it.. I'm 3 seas over there. I'm just down the road from ya on St. Clair hwy.

I have some templates to cover the transom on the inside. I just re-did mine this year and haven't tossed the old ones yet. If you want to trace them to make some for yours it should work well. Email me if you want to come see what I did.

EDIT

Ha! Hey Greg was wondering if that was you? That's why the boat pics always help. I look at your boat pics you often. They are a help.

Sent you an email. Love to hook up and check out the templates. Thanks for the offer!
