So that was it! Floats set wrong. I'm not complaining one bit, I learned so much and feel way more confident troubleshooting my own motor now. The satisfaction I felt on the lake when I opened it up was worth it all. Thanks everyone!!!

Staticride Well done, you're getting there. The new pump is still a good investment. You can forget about fuel pumps now. Just one thing. You have gone to a lot of trouble to get your fuel system good. Now protect it by always using Stabil Marine and if you don't have a water trap filter fitted then make a point of fitting one.

I have the same motor and had the same problem. I used two Sierra pumps. I'll look up the part numbers later. One had a small fitting so I took it apart and drilled and tapped in a bigger fitting. The whole setup only cost me $90. Motor runs smooth . I ran it all summer and the previous fall without any issues.
