i have a vro problem i believe. the boat starts up ok smokes pretty bad though. and in the water it will not plane out up to speed without pressing in the key primer. any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated
It does sound like a fuel problem because of primer behavior. Does it reach speed if you keep squeezing the bulb. If so then it's probably. the vro. Check all hose connections and the pulse limiter. If the problem is the vro, you can remove vro and disassemble it looking for worn diaphragms. They're usually easy to spot i.e. they have holes in them.
Do a compression test, and a spark test on all cylinders and if everything is okay then tear your carbs down and give them a good soaking and cleaning.
very nice video. that looks just like what mine is doing. the only air leak i can find is on the fuel tank where the hose hooks on. when i put the hose on the tank you can here the pressure coming out of the tank. even when it is clicked into place. could this be the problem? i replaced the o-ring inside the fiiting but it still does it. I also found the fuel line off the bottom of the vro tightened with a tie strap but i doesn't appear to be leaking gas there even when i pump the ball. THanks for the help
if you can hear it sucking air, that's your problem...replace the whole fitting, a few bucks at walmart...still bad, replace the male fitting on the tank...hopefully that's the only problem...cable tie is fine
ran the boat today and it purred like a kitten. Thanks for the video rick it solved the problem. Found the gas line coming out of the vro leaking gas. put a new clamp on it. replaced the female hose fitting going to the gas tank and bought a new tank. runs great. probably didn't need the new tank but i was still running a 15 yr old metal tank . anyhow runs great now thanks for everyones help
