Greetings all , I have been trying to figure what holds my shift wire in the hole through the transom housing , I replaced water pump reinstalled leg , steering cut the wire , so repaired wire , resealed the wire through housing.Pulled out again , is thers some retainer that holds the wire from pulling out when lifting leg or steering , I used a sealer called (industrial goop ) works good on most tough sealing problems? But seem like it needs a retainer or something Help
Thanks

Yeah, the looney through intermediate "plan" from OMC doesn't work out too well. Your wire is supposed to look like THIS. Mine got chopped up by a mechanic a few years ago removing the "fatter" portion of the wire that is supposed to hold in the intermediate passage.

What I've done for the last two years is tilted the drive ALL the way up, made sure I had enough wire into the boat to connect properly and siliconed the outboard end of the intermediate passage. It's not leaked for two years, and I've had the drive on and off a few times so it's consistent ... so far.
