62' 40hp Lark Starter advice

I am restoring a 62' Evinrude 40 hp Lark for the orignal owner.
After all the preliminary checks I set off to crank it up and found the starter motor is wrecked. The bearings are out, the armature is worn unven and the brushes barely reach.

I haven't had much luck finding one on the web, however I am not sure I have turned over all the rocks yet.

Are there any suggestions for a starter source, rebuild new etc?

Thanks for your time.

If you have a NAPA store in your area, they carry the sierra brand of marine parts. Make sure to take your model number with you. Search out marine salvage yards, check Ebay and craigs list. If you have a starter rebuild shop in your area they may have a source also.

Thanks allot guys.
Do you think the Sierra stuff goes back that far? I looked at a couple online catalogs but they didn't seem to go back much past the 70's.
I will let you guys know what I come up with.

The 60's J/E 40hp's are a dime a dozen in my neck of the woods. And I bet the starter was the same for years and years... Are parts engines not plentiful in your area?

Not sure to be honest, I am not actually a boat mechanic, I just play one on tv. I generally just try to find something online that can be shipped to me, time is very valuable in my real job.
