6.2L Bravo 3 Water Flow Problem

I have a Bravo 3 with a 6.2L. I am not getting water flow. I thought it may be the impeller so I replaced it. The old one didn't look bad. I connected my ear muffs and still had no water flow. I then pulled out the thermostat. Still no water flow. What am I missing? Could the water pump on the engine itself be bad?

have you looked for blockage in the water supply hose/cooler?? kinked water hose in the transom assy??

check the pick-ups in the drive for debris/weeds

I've visually check the hoses and they look ok. This is the first time I've started the boat all season. I noticed that I had no water coming out of the exhaust yesterday. The engine ran fine the last time we went out, probably last sept. In the fall I winterized the boat by draining the water out of the engine just like I do every year.

Hmmm... There must be some kind of blockage between the seawater pump and the outdrive. But I just don't know what would be large enough to block that hose.

You can disconnect the hose from the transom plate which runs from the waterpump on the engine inside the boat. Stick your garden hose into the transom plate connection to backflush the passages through the drive. Also you can shove the garden hose into the hose going to the pump and run it that way to check. Sure the hoses are on the back of the pump right.

Re: 6.2L Bravo 3 Water Flow Problem

Found my problem to be some kind of blockage in the suction hose. Its a 100% block. I ran a wire in it and was able to get to the the back of the engine where it meets the outdrive. Its a tight fit to visually check there or to even get there. Is there something in the outdrive that could be causing the blockage? I used a shop vac and both sucking and blowing on the hose and like I said, its 100% blocked. I cant imagine that its sand or dirt. Gotta be something mechanical or a failure to cause the blockage. Any ideas?

doubt it

probably weeds/debris sucked up and plugged the hose

time to take stuff apart and pull it out by hand, a wire isn't going to do it
