5.7l alpha shift switch

motor sticks in gear forward and reverse. shift switch has no efect on motor. even when i bypass switch and conect both wires together. what dose the icm module do.

I gnition<br /> C ontrol<br /> M odule <br />It controls the Ignition......<br /><br />You have a broken or disconnected wire... When the Shift-Switch is Closed, The Coil is Supposed to be Grounded Out..... When you by-pass it, the motor Should Not Start....

my motor is a mercury 5.7l alpha model no 4311025n1 thanks greg

thanks for the reply bondo. can i run a wire from the switch to the coil. or does it have to go thru the icm

thanks guys found the problem . it had bravo icm fitted
