Anyone have an automotive cross reference part number for points, condenser, and rotor. It is the Delco distributor flavor. Auto parts store can't look anything up without a year, make, and model of vehicle.

Thanks Bt Doctor. I sure miss my old parts store guy. These days most of the parts people only know what the computer tells em.

you need to vett your auto parts guy. ask him/her for a small block chevy valve cover gasket. if they ask perimeter or center - then buy parts from them. if they ask year make and model, find the guy that can answer the question.

I use NAPA for quick stuff like that. The guys there are in the mid 50's, early 60's. They can look it up by Merc serial number too.

The standard numbers for the 470 distributer are cap DR437 and the rotor is DR 314. I replaced the points with a petronix kit years ago.
