430B Picture of timing marks

Hi

One of the problems I mentioned in another post was that I couldn't read the timing marks.

It looked like the whole area was corroded, but in fact it was just the paint that was a mess.

I used some paint stripper and a wire brush and voila - I have timing marks.

In case anyone has the same problem, I thought I would post the picture.

Thanks for the post, Brian!
I have a similar problem. I tried to remove the paint, but the metal itself was so pitted, I couldn't read anything. I would assume it's made the same way. It's supposed to be 8 degrees B.T.D.C, so that should be the second thooth above the hole on my engine...
