we will start with the story. 1st time with boat on water, ran fine for 3 hrs while crabbing, then it just stalled? could get it to run if i put the throttle to it and threw it in to gear.. lost 1/2 rpms from 5k to 2500. I messed with the carbs by trying to choke them out. placing my fingers partially over the intake. bottom carb stalled, like it should. top one did not stall the engine?. we finally got back to port and headed home with a full bushel of blue crab! and a broken motor.... I rebuilt fuel pump, replaced inline fuel filter. pulled carbs apart, found nothing wrong. this whole time I'm thinking fuel, and carbs because of the top carb not stallig the engine... long story short all that fuel system stuff does nothing. check spark with inline spark tester with plugs in motor, top 2 cyl. very weak spark, bottom 2 look to have a hot white spark (#3 cyl.less bright, but looked o.k) now I'm leaning towards switch box or stator. so if anyone could give me some advice on which way to go, or how to test either one, would be great. also any suggestions if I'm not on the right track. serial # is oc214431.
