The "X" <br />Sorry I couldn't resist. <br /><br />Just did a quick Google search and looks like the L is rated 175HP and the LX is rated 205HP. 4 barrel vs. 2 barrel carb looks like is one main difference.
In '89, prior to Chevy VorTec, The 2 barrel was rated at 175 hp and the 4 barrell was rated at 190hp. After VorTec in mid '97, hp was 190/2 barrell and 205/4 barrell.
